

He was retired from Greeneville Fire Department and was a member of Amity Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Wells was a member of Greeneville Masonic Lodge #3 F&A.M., was one of the founding members of Greene County Antique Tractor Club, was a former auxiliary policeman, and he served 6 months in the U.S. Army and continued his service in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Wells; his daughter: Keema Wells, his pride and joy, of Greeneville; son-in-law: Johnny Jarnagin of Bulls Gap; special brother and sister-in-law: Drew and Patsy Wells of Greeneville; special sister: Carolyn Miller of Greeneville; special sister-in-law and brothers-in-law: Valerie and Bobby Yokley and Windfield Shipley of Greeneville; special nephew: Dwayne Wells and spouse, Ruth, of Greeneville; and a great niece: Nicolle Wells of Greeneville.
He was the son of the late John and Norman Fillers Wells and was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Bobby Miller; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Frances and Woodrow Shipley.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his sister, Carolyn Miller, 170 Amity Road, Greeneville, TN 37743.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Dr. Dan Donaldson officiating.
Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
His pallbearers will be members of the Greeneville Fire Department.
Dr. Martin Tran, Barbara Mitchell, Penny Jones, and Debbie Odom of Smokey Mountain dialysis, Hugh Wells, Bobby Wells, Billy Wells, Mike McCall, Bobby Bird, Sammy Bird, Don White, Tommy Love, Gene and Shirley Roark, Doug Reynolds, Bill Reynolds, Sammy R. Fox, Dr. James R. McKinney, Dr. Frederick Myers, the staffs of Caris and Advance Home Health, and his fellow retirees of Greeneville Fire Department will all serve as honorary pallbearers.
