

He was a former co-owner of Crum Lumber Company for 38 years.
Mr Crum was a member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years: Arlena Crum; son and daughter-in-law: Lynn and Kathleen Crum of Garden City, Michigan; grandchildren: Jarrod Crum, Jason and Johnathon Crum, Kyleen Zoltowski; great grandchildren: Anthony Jr., Brooklyn, and Owen Zoltowski and Natalli and Tripp Crum; brother-in-law: John Craddock of Greeneville; sister-in-law: Marjorie Robison of Dandridge, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son: Mike W. Crum; parents: R.B. and Rosa Mae Brooks Crum; brother: Dennis R. Crum; and sister: Mildred Wilhoit.
A special thanks to Joyce Crum for the Hospice care and the love and attention she gave throughout Desmond’s illness.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Rodney Bailey, Rev. Billy Gragg, and Chaplain Gregg Barlow officiating.
Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
His pallbearers will be Jarrod Crum, Jason Crum, Johnathon Crum, Pete Heck, Leroy Lynch, and Lewis Stroud.
Dr. Charles Montgomery, the staff of Smokey Mountain Home Health and Hospice, and Dean Crum will serve as honorary pallbearers.
