Dinah Jones, 82, passed away late Friday night in Johnson City Medical Center as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Dinah loved everyone and was loved by all who knew her. Born February 29, 1940, she lived her entire life in the Glenwood Community. She retired from Philips Consumer Electronics, where she progressed through multiple levels of responsibility, completing TV repair certification, and holding management roles of manufacturing supervisor and foreman. She was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church where she faithfully attended, was active in the Women’s Society, and had many special friends too numerous to mention.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, B. R. (Bill) Jones, two daughters, Rhonda (Keith) Owsley and Rita (John) Hankins, three sisters, Helen (Dale) Fillers, Brenda Ellenburg and Eva Johnson, brother, David Rader, two sisters-in-law, Gail Ballard and Patsy Phillips, two grandsons, Ty (Shelby) Hankins and Dane Hankins, two great-grandchildren, Hudson and Gracie Hankins, several nieces and nephews, and special friend, Jill Fincher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Kate Smith Rader, in-laws, Elmer and Thelma Mercer Jones, two sisters, Francis Moyer and Wanda Wilson, brother-in-law, Joe Ballard, sister-in-law, Norma Rader, and nephew, Kelvin Fillers.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kiser Rose Hill Funeral Home. She will lie in state on Thursday morning until 11:00 AM when procession will begin to Pine Grove United Methodist Church for the funeral at 1:00 pm with Pastors Greg Burnett and Jim Fain and special music by Pine Grove Choir under the direction of Marilyn Neece. A brief graveside service to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include John Hankins, Ty Hankins, Dane Hankins, Keith Owsley, Junior Crowder, Josh Freshour and Justin Fincher.
Kiser Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
