Donald Clyde “Peanut” Lowery, 75, of Brown Springs Road, Greeneville, died Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol, Tennessee, surrounded by his loving family.

Don was a man of few words; he was an honest, hardworking man who loved his family tremendously. He retired from HT Hackney Company as a truck driver and then also worked for and retired from Greene County Solid Waste Department as a truck driver.

Left to cherish countless memories are his loving and devoted children and their spouses: daughter and son-in-law: Roxanne and Kevin Knight; son and daughter-in-law: Jessie Ray and Kelle Lowery; loving granddaughter and husband Emily and Luke Wood; great grandsons: Collin and Grant Wood; granddaughter and husband: Breanna and Jeremy Hall; great grandsons: Corbin and Noah Hall; sister and brother-in-law: Kathy and Jackie Shipley; sisters-in-law: Bessie Lowery, Nannie Johnson, and Charlene Johnson; step grandchildren and great grandchildren: Tyler and Megan Rader, Kevin and Katelin Knight, Korena and Sheldon Hall, and Lane Lemons; several nieces and nephews; and very special friends: the girls at Critter’s Corner.

Don is at peace and reunited with his one true love in life, his precious wife of 56 years, Brenda Katherine Lowery. Also joining in the reunion are his daughter, Veronica Dotson, his parents, Teddy and Lena Dell Lowery, brothers and sister: Claude, Billy, and Ruby Lowery; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Eunice and Mary Johnson; brothers-in-law and sister-in- law: Guy, Orville, Carroll and Barbara Johnson; and great granddaughter: Ava Miller.

The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel. Conducting the funeral service will be special friend, Danny Ricker. Music will be provided by The Knight Family.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Select Specialty Hospital for the quality of care they provided Don and the compassion shown to him and his whole family.
