

He was a retired mechanic and a former employee of Huf.
Survivors include his wife: Judy Hankins Shipley; two sons: David Shipley and Adam Shipley of Greeneville; three daughters: Gena Shipley of Greene County, Melissa Severt of Gray, and Angie Severt of the home; three loving grandchildren: Kori Smith, Madison Spillman, and Brayden Carter; mother-in-law: Shirley Hankins; four sisters and brothers-in-law: Viola and Don Moore, Marcella and Justin Devault, Vivian and Donnie Thompson, and Mary and Gerald Knight, all of Greene County; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Wiley and Joyce Shipley and Jackie and Kathy Shipley of Greene County; four brothers-in-law and their wives: Ricky and Denise Hankins, Ben Hankins, Mike and Mary Hankins, and Bill and Cheryl Hankins of Greene County; two sisters-in-law: Brenda Hall and Linda Smith and husband, Mark; two aunts: Shirley Fox and Rosalind Fox; uncles and spouses: Boyd and Patsy Fox, Buford Fox, Bobby Fox, and Jimmy and Peggy Fox; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zenith and Loretta Shipley.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8pm Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Nick Bailey officiating.
Interment will be at 2pm Sunday at Graceland Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at 1pm Sunday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Teedee Maupin, Ricky Hankins, Dennis Fox, Tim Mitchell, Kenny Moore, and Rick Mitchell.
Honorary pallbearers are Paul Turner, Larry Riddle, Mike Hankins, Craig Gaby, and his buddies at Joe’s Market.
