Donavan Alexander Barner

Donavan was a 2017 graduate of Greeneville High School where he excelled on the football field proudly wearing #22. He was also a member of Jones Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church. He had a smile that could light up any room and an energy that was unmatched. Donavan never met a stranger and always had a hug and “I love you” to all he embraced. Regardless of the health battles he faced, he never allowed it to deter him in his fight for life and making sure his loved ones were acknowledged. In death as in life he gave his heart away and donated his organs to those in need. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten. There is great Joy in knowing he will be well received by his dear loved ones who have preceded him.

Survivors include his daughters Haven Elaine Barner and Lydia Diane Barner. His parents Yvonne Michele Hamilton and Matthew Roberts; and Joshuah Barner. Siblings include Karington (KK), Kadence, Kyndall, Daxtyn, Aundreya, Josie, Ethan, Jaymin, Hayden, Jaylon, & Khalena. Special siblings include Marshanna Eason, Jordan Ford, Hannah Hall, Lexxie Barner, Kellen Fischer, Allison Barner, Mckenzie Hamilton, and Godson, Amari Alexander. Grandparents Donnie & Susan Hamilton, William & Patricia (Cricket) Barner, Rebecca Roberts, and Ronnie Ryans. Great Grandfather Donald C. Hamilton. A host of special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, godparents, extended family, friends, and giving special recognition to Janice Gudger. An unconditional love for the mothers of his children Alyssa Johnston, and Sydney Schofield. Bonus family include Brad and Ginia Johnston; and special recognition to the Carter family.

The family will receive friends from 10 am - 2 pm, Friday, April 29, 2022, at Kiser Rose Hill Funeral Home. Following visitation the funeral service will be held at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Pruitt Hill Cemetery. Family Repass will be held at Jones Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, 201 Clem Street, Greeneville, Tennessee.

The family would like to express their appreciation for all the prayers, phone calls, and concerns during their time of bereavement.
