He was of the Baptist faith.
Donnie was a painter by trade, having painted many of the historic downtown Greeneville structures, including many of the church steeples on Main Street.
He loved playing his guitar and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Rogers Norton; his precious daughter and caretaker, Amy Norton (Randal); grandchildren, Cheyenne Hensley, Chad Hensley, and Chasity Williams; great grandchildren, Abagail Bolton, Blakelynn and Preslee Arceneaux, and Mayleigh Williams; his mother, Sarah Ann Norton; three sisters, Violet Price, Sandra Norton, and Tracy (Chris) Kilday; a sister-in-law, Eva (Johnny) Brown; brothers-in-law, Buddy Rogers and Glen Rogers; a special aunt, Bonnie Mae Gunter; and several niece and nephews.
Donnie is preceded in death by his father, NeHanie Norton; his son, Donnie Adam Norton; and his brother, Ricky Richard Norton.
The family will receive friends 2-4pm and 5-7pm on Monday, February 19th, 2024 at Casi Full Gospel Church, 370 Cassi Rd, Chuckey, TN 37641. The funeral will follow at 7pm, officiated by Rev. Lynn Mercer.
Interment will be at 11am on Tuesday at Liberty Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at Casi Full Gospel Church at 10 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers are Randal Jennings, Jimmy Guthry, Chad Hensley, Jeffrey Rhinehart, Paul Foster, Jeremy Williams, and Marty Guthry.
