Dorothy I. Cooter

Dorothy Smith Cooter, 86, of Signature HealthCARE Center of Greeneville, formerly of the Horton Highway, died at the center Thursday evening.

She was a housewife.

Mrs. Cooter was a member of Pine Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one daughter: Faye Smith Anderson Hare of the Pine Grove community; one grandson: Shane Anderson of Washington State; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Betty Joe Bailey, and her husband, Bobby Bailey, of the Pine Grove community; a special friend: Ida Mae Bailey of Signature HealthCARE; and a special friend of the family, Shane Anderson's fiancée, Ellie Bator of Washington State.

Mrs. Cooter was the daughter of the late Alex and Mandy Jackson and was preceded in death by her first husband, Thurman C. Smith, and her second husband, Fred Cooter, and several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today and Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel.

The Rev. Wayne Waycaster will officiate.

Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery on the Horton Highway.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
