

She retired from Magnavox and was a regular member at the Roby Center.
Dorothy had several family members and friends who were like the sisters she never had.
Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law: David and Betty Gregory of Mosheim; a special niece and spouse: Kathy and Eddie Taylor of Dallas, Georgia; a special nephew and spouse: David Allen and Tammy Gregory of Mosheim; nephew: Dennis Ricker of Mosheim; two aunts: Dorothy Gregory of Mohawk and Helen Gregory of Greeneville; sisters-in-law: Frances Waddell of Greeneville, Frances Pitt of Chuckey, Anne Cochran and husand, Harry, of Baileyton; several other nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and church family; her special dog: “Baby”.
She was the daughter of the late David Andrew and Lura Mae Seaton Gregory and was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest “Red” Pitt; several aunts and uncles; two brothers-in-law: James Waddell and Clarence “Broadie” Pitt.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Jearoldstown United Methodist Church. Rev. Richard Bowers and Rev. Oscar McAmis will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church Tuesday for the funeral service.
Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on the Kingsport Highway.
Pallbearers will be Alex Gregory, Casey Gregory, David Allen Gregory, Rick Russell, Billy Russell and David Cochran.
Members of Jearoldstown UM Church and members of the Roby Center will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family extends a special thanks to Chasity Cogdill, her special caregiver at Life Care Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jearoldstown UM Church.
