
He was a retired mail carrier for the U. S. Postal Service and was a farmer.
Mr. White was a member of Bewley’s Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of the St. James Young at Heart Club.
Pete served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.
Survivors include a son: Craig White of the home; sister and brother-in-law: Mary Alice and John Rugaber of Greeneville;
two brothers and sisters-in-law: David “Timer” and Anna Lee White of Greeneville, William “Bob” and Karen White of Bluffton, SC; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Lougene Douthat of Florida, Donald and Peggy Dawson of Jefferson City, Gary Suter of Greenbrier, TN, Elbert Phillips of California, Emma Sue Dawson of Mosheim, Marlene Dawson of Charleston, SC; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was the son of the late Edwin Carl and Ora Lee Kinser White and was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca A. Dawson White.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, October 29, 2013, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Joe Phillips officiating.
Interment will follow at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Kendall Bowers, Alan Broyles, Rex Arrington, Dunk Neas, David White, Jon Pursley, Nick Neas, and Don Strong.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Bewley’s Chapel Bible Class, members of the St. James Young at Heart Club, his co-workers at the Greeneville Post Office, Dr. Kenneth Susong and staff, Joe Hawk, and Justin Shelton.
