Emma Royce Carter

She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Mrs. Carter was a retired cook from the Elk’s Club.

She was a member of the Negro Women’s Civic Club and the Hattie Bryant Circle at Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son: Ronald Dean Arnold; daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Donald Littlejohn, Elaine Carter, Emma and Melvin Conley, Deniese Carter, and Alesia Carter; grandchildren: Jimmy Pruitt, Yolanda Pruitt, Donald Littlejohn Jr., Derrick Littlejohn, Darrell Gillespie, Brenton Gillespie, Elise Edmonds, Erin Edmonds, Dustin Moore, Tyrone Carter; and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Willard H. Carter; a son: Robert Arnold, a daughter: Marjorie Pruitt; a son: Willard “Bug” Carter Jr.; a grandson: Brad Gillespie; and her parents: Sandy Perry and Bell Arnold.

The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil Mills, Jr. and Rev. Melvin Conley officiating.

Interment will follow in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Horton, J.W. Horton, James Gudger, William Edmonds, Marco Ripley, Gary Gillespie, and Herman Pruitt.

Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Joe Anderson, Willie Anderson, James Pruitt, Pete Lollar, Tommy Barkley, and Edward Lee Jordan.
