Ernest Lamoureux

He was preceded in death by parents, Alfred H. Lamoureux and Cora Courcheene Lamoureux; also, by his sister, Janet Vezina.

He moved to Florida in 1975. He loved fishing, camping, and growing large vegetable gardens, often giving away tomatoes and green beans to family and friends. He was a concrete finisher and worked in fiberglass. He was Post Commander many times of Sons of the Legion (SAL) Squadron 238 in Safety Harbor, Florida. He was a lifetime member there and loved his Post deeply. He also played Santa for many years at Post 238 and various nursing homes, schools, and churches. He was a member of Sylvan Abbey Church.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, best friend for 40 years, Cheryl Lamoureux; three daughters: his “TN mountain girl” Cheri Wolfe (Randy Wells), his FL “My Jamie” Jamie Rodriguez , his NY “Lil Buddy” Richelle Gerner (Shannon); grandchildren: Savannah, Sierra, Jessica (Jeff), and Madison; two brothers: Alfred Lamoureux (Carolyn) of Vermont, David Lamoureux (Marie) of Massachusetts; brother-in-law: Roger Vezina of Massachusetts; two sisters-in-law: Lynda Anderson (Steve) of Texas, Irene Kretchmar (Skip) of Texas; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Ernie was a compassionate, kind, and happy soul whose presence lit up the hearts of all who knew him. He is greatly and deeply missed.
