

He served as a fireman for the Bristol, Tenn. Fire Department and retired as an electrician from East Tennessee State University.
Mr. Jones was a member of Bales Chapel United Methodist Church.
He was a wonderful husband, loving father and grandfather who loved working with his hands and woodworking. Anyone who spent any amount of time with him learned something and will agree that he was crazy, funny, firm in his beliefs and not afraid of anyone or anything. Above all, he was a family man.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years: Jackie Jones ; two daughters and a son-in-law: Angie and Scott White of Greeneville; Ginger Jones and fiancé, Brian Cox of Bristol, Tennessee; a son: Allen Jones of Afton; grandchildren: Betsy Williams, Chase Williams, Cole Porter, David White, Bradley White, and Mikaela Cox; brother and sister-in-law: David and Carol Jones of Columbia, South Carolina; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Jean Odum and Mary and Junior Mann, all of Bristol, Tennessee; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Linda and Joe Morris; nephews: Kevin Jones, Mark Jones, Barry Mann, Jonathan Bednar, Badi Montgomery and John Mann; a niece: Sabra Combs; several great nieces and great nephews; a special friend: Pam Messer; and his special dog: Harley.
He was the son of the late George Allen and Bessie Myrtle Smith Jones and was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Jones.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel.
Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol, Virginia. Family and friends are asked to meet Wednesday morning at the cemetery for the committal service.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Jones, Mark Jones, Chase Williams, Pam Messer, Brian Cox, Allen Jones, Mark Reaves, and Scott White.
