

He was a member of Horse Creek Mission and a farmer.
Gordon is survived by a daughter: Susan Gentry Cloran of the Greystone Community in Greene County; granddaughter: Sierra Shelton of Greene County; five brothers and six sisters-in-law: Bryson and Patricia Gentry, Carson and Martha Gentry, Phyllis Gentry, Rayven Gentry, and Ben Gentry of Greene County, and Olen and Rita Gentry of Washington County;four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Martha and Brownlow Bowman, Trula and Robert Dunbar, Hazel and Junior Weems, and Lola Ricker; two half brothers: Elgin Gentry and Clifford Gentry of Greene County; several nieces and nephews; and special friends: Mary and Luke Ball, Jerry Altice, and his hospice nurses: Janet Varney and Tricia Hamby.
He was a son of the late George W. and Flora Cutshaw Gentry and was preceded in death by a brother: Doug Gentry; and an infant sister: Rose Mary Gentry.
The body is at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home where it will remain until time for the service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Horse Creek Mission Church with Rev. Kenneth Bowens and Rev. Mike Hensley officiating.
Interment will follow in the Moncier family cemetery across from Greene Ridge Church.
His pallbearers are Ricky Ball, Johnny Tarlton, Logan Lamb, Edward Graham, Jim Gunter, Roger Gunter, Kevin Starling, and Ricky Walters.
His honorary pallbearers are Dean Peak, Dewey Walters, Bryant Gross, Terry Johnson, and Jack McAmis.
