Born October 10, 1926, on the twin Islands of Trinidad and Tobago to Cornelius and Charlotte Chapman. She was the eighth of nine siblings (Adina, Randolph, Maude, Mansfield, Enid, Gwendolyn, Cleveland, Hadassah, and Thaddeus. Her main occupation was a seamstress. She was known for sewing very extravagant bridal gowns. She took great pleasure in cooking and baking many tasty dishes. Family and friends knew that they were always welcomed to a meal at her house.
Survivors include the seven children with her late husband, Ruthven Charles, plus the three children that they raised (Amelia, Beresford, Andrew, Daughn, Claudette, Keith, Patricia, Liselle, Kenwyn, and Kendell).
