He was a retired accountant from Magnavox after 32 years of service.
Mr. Coleman was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of the Senior Softball Team of Greeneville, Church Softball League, and bowled in leagues with Magnavox.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Lou Ella Coleman; two daughters and sons-in-law: Leah and Merl Jarnigan and Lorie and Stephen Sponcia; grandchildren: Amy Brown and spouse Nathan, Weston Whitson, Jamie Davis, Christopher Sponcia, and Angela Sponcia-Vance; one great granddaughter: Ally Brown; sister and brother-in-law: Juanita and Gene Loe of Paducah, Kentucky; and son-in-law: Mel Davis.
He was the son of the late Clyde and Vada Coleman and was preceded in death by a daughter: Lynn Coleman Davis.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8pm Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Jeannie Higgins and Rev. David Woody officiating.
Interment will follow at 10am Thursday at River Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10am Thursday at the cemetery for the committal service. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Merl Jarnigan, Stephen Sponcia, Weston Whitson, Jamie Davis, Nathan Brown, Mel Davis, the staff of Laughlin Health Care Center, the LaRue Bible Class at Asbury, and special friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, 201 South Main Street, Greeneville, TN 37743.
