He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Taylor was retired.
He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam.
Survivors include a daughter: Deana Stephens; brother: Dennis W. Laws; nieces: Renée Pickering, Ingrid Kirk, Amy Boykin, Jennifer Choken, and Jeanine Franklin; nephew: Zane Taylor; one grandchild; and several great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Grace Annalee Taylor; two brothers: Billy Taylor and Richard Taylor; and two sisters: Emily Taylor and Vada Jo Devoti.
The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Jan Leffers and Rev. Roger Hayley officiating.
Interment will be at 10:00 am Friday at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home Friday at 9:30 am to go in procession to the cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
Pallbearers will be his family and friends.
