

He was a proud Army veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from working with the Tennessee Valley Authority.
He is survived by his wife: Barbara Cannon Babb; children and their spouses: John and Mary Babb, Rose and Charles Carroll, Tammy and Melvin Abbott, and Jona and Chris Kinsey, all of Georgia, Curtis and Teresa Babb of Greeneville, Kim Cannon of Bean Station, and Shelia and Perry Houston of Telford; brothers and sisters-in-law: Ray and Thelma Babb and Bobby and Sandra Babb of Greeneville, Ken and Nancy Babb of Georgia; sister: Ellen Taylor of Greeneville; grandchildren: Candace and Lucas Wiggin, Casey Babb, Benny Carroll, Kayla Tinker, Cody and Dylan Abbott, Greg Canon, Tanna and Don Stansfield, and Geordyn, Jeremy, and Logann Houston; great grandchildren: Hailey and Katelynn Carroll, Samuel and Riley Kinsey, Lucas Quarles, Elias Painter, Trent and Kailey Cannon, and Don Stansfield III; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William Barney and Lucy Babb; his wife: Betty Jean Babb; brothers and sisters-in-law: Fred and Mildred Babb, Reece Babb, Jack and Ann Babb, Curtis Babb, Ralph and Georgia Babb; and sisters and brother-in-law: Velma and Glen Smith and Frances Brown.
He was a member of Eastside Independent Baptist Church of Greeneville.
Visitation will be held at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday 6pm-9pm.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Dr. David Fox and Dr. Jerry Mullendore officiating.
Interment will follow in Horse Creek Church of God Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Benny Carroll, Casey Babb, Greg Cannon, Jeremy Houston, Don Stansfield II, and Lucas Wiggin.
Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Kevin Toppenburg, the staff of Caris Hospice, Justin Saylor, Darrell Wilcox, Chad Dalton, and friends and church family.
