Helen Lorraine Charlton

Lorraine was born on January 29, 1938 to the late Ben and Opal McAmis of Pine Grove and lived in the Pine Grove community all her life. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Jackie; brothers and one sister-in-law, Billy and Jane McAmis and Bud McAmis; and a sister, Betty Jean Barnes and husband Paul.

Lorraine was of the Baptist faith and attended Pine Grove Free Will Baptist Church before her health declined. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed caring for children in her home and babysat for many families over the years.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, Eddie Charlton; three children and one daughter-in-law, Mickey and Callie Charlton, Rick Charlton, and Teresa Adams; six grandchildren, Brandie Willis (Nathan), Sarah Raleigh (Jesse), Cassie O'Bryan (Kevin), Jessie Charlton, Jared Charlton (Makenna), and Hannah Charlton; two great-grandchildren, Ryder and Hadley Raleigh; one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Diane McAmis; one sister-in-law, Sandra McAmis; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends, including a special friend Ronda Straley.

The Charlton family will receive friends on Friday, July 17, 2026 4-7 pm at Pine Grove FWB Church on the Horton Highway. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Roger Dykes, Rev. Keith Williams and Roger Barker officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 am Saturday at Bethany FWB Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Nathan Willis, Gary Charlton, Larry Charlton, Marty Jackson, Roger Barker, and Jared Charlton. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Roberts and Dean Charlton.
