Homer W. Pruitt, 88, of Greeneville, Tennessee, passed away February 27, 2014, at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

He had worked as a tool and die maker for the Ford Motor Company.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Greeneville and the VFW.

Mr. Bill loved his Alabama Crimson Tide "Roll Tide". He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific as a Corpsman in the United States Navy. He also served in the United States Marine Corps. He was loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Dorothy Pruitt; daughter and son-in-law: Beverly and Chris Davis of Orange Park, Florida; son and daughter-in-law: David V. and Julie Pruitt of San Diego, California; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Kenneth and Joyce Pruitt and Jerry Pruitt of Birmingham, Alabama; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his friends at the YMCA.

He was the son of the late Hubert and Leo Nellie Carter Pruitt and was preceded in death by a son: Victor Pruitt; a sister: Elva Seibienhenir; a brother: Taylor Pruitt; and a sister-in-law: Evelyn Pruitt.

The family will receive friends from 2pm-3pm Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

Following visitation, the funeral service will be conducted at 3pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. David Green officiating.

The body will be taken to Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence, Alabama for interment.

Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday School Class and his friends at the YMCA.

The family would like to express special thanks to the nurses, doctors, physical therapists, and staff at Laughlin Memorial Hospital and Laughlin Health Care; and his special friends: Rev. Dr. David Green and his wife, Tracy, Cindy Taliaferro, and Randy and Pam Harley.

We were very sad to learn that our long Friend has passed on. We walked with him every morning while he lived in the Shoals. He was a very good Friend.
