Ivan R. Collins Jr.

He retired from the Greeneville Police Department after 20 years of service. He served twice, having gone through the Police Academy a second time in his fifties.

Ivan was a Godly man. He was a mountain of a man and a devout gardener. Ivan delivered hundreds of loads of wood and vegetables to his friends and neighbors. He had a servant’s heart and never met a stranger. He was a friend to everyone and brought joy and laughter to all.

Ivan is survived by his son, Paul (Sharron) Collins; his three daughters, Pam (Robert) Lamb, Teresa (Nick) Rotella, and Amy (Angie Hayes) Collins; two special sons, Bryan (Gail) Hulse and Brent Hulse; grandchildren, Erin (David) Richey, Ben Collins, Collin Rotella, Carter Rotella, Parker Rotella, Randall (Lindsey) Wilburn, Jacob Hulse, and Chance Hulse; seven great-grandchildren, Nolan Shores, Lila Richey, Ava Richey, Julia Richey, Lane Wilburn, Hunter Wilburn, and Ellie Wilburn; four brothers, Lowell (Gladalea) Collins, Tommy (Sandra) Collins, Kyle (Laura) Collins, and Johnny (Teresa) Collins; two sisters, Brenda (Jimmy) Starnes and Debbie (Terry Shelton) Gregory; and numerous very special nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by former wife, Sandra Denney, and his special friend, Randy Hawk.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan “Scad” R. Collins, Sr. and Easter Lily; his special sweetheart and the love of his life, Ann Nichols; his granddaughter, Amber Collins; and former wife, Mae Collins.

The family will receive friends 1-3pm and 5-7pm on Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7pm in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jim Fillers and Rev. Tommy Collins.

Interment will be at 10am on Saturday at Cedar Creek Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9am to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers are Ben Collins, Carter Rotella, Collin Rotella, Parker Rotella, Nolan Shores, David Richey, Jacob Hulse, Chance Hulse, Randall Wilburn, and Randy Hawk.

Honorary pallbearers are Charles Kinser, Steve Spano, Terry Cannon, Don Hamilton, Lewis Shipley, Eddie Tweed, Rick Pucher, Pat Hankins and all current and former Greeneville and Greene County Law Enforcement Officers.
