

He retired from the U.S. Air Force after having served for 20 years.
Rev. Cobb was a member of Appalachian Baptist Church and provided nursing home ministry for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years: Lena Cobb; one brother and sister-in-law: Earl and Joyce Cobb; a sister-in-law: Ruth Shelton; sister-in-law and "dear friend": Lula Belle Shipley; several nieces and nephews, including two special nieces: Helen and Tammy Ricker; and a special pet: "Millie".
He was the son of the late Robert and Mary Cobb and was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Bill Cobb.
The family will receive friends 1-3 and 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tracy Jones and Rev. Charles Lindy officiating.
Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery Friday for the 2:00 p.m. interment. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Randall Tipton, Joe Hardin, Raymond Shipley, David Martin, Brandon Babb, and Dawson Martin.
Honorary pallbearers are his friends at Appalachian Baptist Church.
The family wished to express a special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice and to the ICU staff at Takoma Regional Hospital.
