Chris was first and foremost a follower of Jesus Christ. He loved the Lord with all his heart and was a great spiritual leader for his family. He attended the First Christian Church in Greeneville.
Chris always had a bright smile for everyone he met and was known for giving the best warm bear hugs. He had many interests, such as playing the guitar, collecting football and baseball cards, watching movies, being a fan of the Titans and UT football, a connoisseur of every new soda and potato chip and telling dad jokes; but what he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Denise Smiley; children, Camilia King and Conrad King; brothers, Jimmy Lawrence and Johnny Lawrence; nieces and nephews, Ashley Allen, Sara Emmert, Jennifer Emmert, Chris King, Tamera Hensley, Joshua Lawrence, Jakob Lawrence, Nicole Presley and Krissy Presley.
Chris was the son of the late, James Thomas Smiley and Eva Nell Pace Smiley. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence Delbert Pace, Alice Evoline Napier Pace, Calvin Smiley and Anna Mae Smiley. Also preceding him in death are a brother, Larry Emmert; sisters, Johnette Emmert and Robin Allyson Emmert King; and a niece, Rachel Leeann Welch.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 – 3 pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Mosheim Central Cemetery.
