

He was Baptist by faith and a former employee of Walmart DC.
James was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing on the lake with his wife or spending time in the mountains with friends and family. Time spent at home usually involved working in his shop on his next project or restoring Fisher wood stoves, which he greatly enjoyed. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his willingness to help others when there was a need, along with his love of animals.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Waddell; four children: Courtney (Chris) Bennett, Benjamin Waddell, Jesse Waddell, and Alyssa Landers; six grandchildren: Aiden Clark, Brennan, Paxton, Canaan, Aurora, and Tobias Bennett; his mother, Linda (L.A.) Doty; two sisters, Sherry Watson and Stacey Waddell; uncles: Tim (Nancy) Brown and Robert (Linda) Waddle; and an aunt, Starlette (Michael) Testor.
James was preceded in death by his father, James R. Waddell and an infant sister, Lakota Waddell.
Pallbearers will be special friends: Logan Tarlton, Jody Tarlton, Dale Graham, Seth Bailey, Hunter Shelton, and Chris Bennett.
There will be no formal visitation. A graveside service will be conducted at Union Chapel Cemetery on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 1:00 pm with Aaron Waddle officiating.
