

He was retired from Sunbeam Bread Company.
Mr. Rice served in U.S. Army in the 1st Infantry. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends.
Survivors include a son: Kevin Rice of Greeneville; two daughters: Tresa Rice and Tammy Laws of Greeneville; four grandchildren: Tanasi Rice, Sedona Rice, Kellen Rice and Lindsey Laws; great grandchildren: Delana Migdoll, Sadie Laws, Jake Laws; two brothers and sisters-in-law: D.C. and Patsy Rice of St. Stevens, South Carolina and Ronnie Ray and Nancy Rice of Bulls Gap; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Shirley and Keith Chandler, Caroline and Cline Cook, and Hilda Rice Foulks of Chuckey; uncle: Clyde Rice; two aunts: Portia Cutshall and Neater Holland; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend: Kay Ricker of Greeneville.
He was the son of the late Wesley and Dorothy V. Lamb Rice.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Lynn Neas officiating.
Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
His pallbearers will be D.C. Rice, Shane Cook, Ronnie Rice, Chris Cutshall, Eric Cutshall, Richard Cutshall, Bobby Cutshall, Lynn Robinette, Ronnie Foulks.
Dr. Jimmy Dean Coffey, Bobby Coffey, and Ronnie Rollins will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The Greene County Honor Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
