Jean Bruce Masengill

Jean was born on June 20, 1931, in Morristown, TN. She was the secretary and bookkeeper at Greeneville Middle School for several years and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She had a passion for flowers and gardening and loved spending time outside tending them. She was also Valedictorian of her graduating class from Morristown High School in 1949.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Felty Masengill; two daughters, Leann (Freddy) Holt and Lisa (Ralph) Boswell; and one granddaughter, Jessy Boswell. She is also survived by a sister, Sara Bruce Jones. She was loved by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews as well as other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Lacy and Ona Thomason Bruce; two brothers, Bobby Bruce and Ernest Bruce; and two sisters, Mary Bruce Harville and Peggy Bruce Eiseman; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

There will be no formal visitation or funeral service. The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date.
