He is survived by his parents: Jerry Lee and Judy Davis Grooms of Greeneville; sister and brother-in-law: Pamela and David Bowers; special nephew: Blake Bowers; grandfather: Roy Beryl Martin of Fall Branch; very special aunts and uncles: Truman and Doris Davis, James and Patricia Davis, Wanda Wills, Doyle Davis, Elizabeth Jane Gosnell, Bob and Lena Hawke of Grafton, Ohio, Richard Grooms of Tuscon Arizona, Mike and Irene Simms of Hickory, North Carolina, Wilbur Grooms, Bud and Susie Garner of Oxford, North Carolina, Martha Gillenwater of Johnson City, Grace Greenway of Lebanon, Tennessee , Phillip and Mary Beaver of Hildebran, North Carolina, Rick and Betty Strange of Newport, Garvis “Junior” and Donna Grooms of Hickory, North Carolina; numerous cousins and friends; special friends: Margaret Rigsby and Jerry Metcalf; and special “little” friends: Brittany Lowe and Dakota Williams.

Jerry was preceded in death by grandparents: Hilierd and Martha Louise Davis , Garvis Grooms, Myrtle Jenkins, Emma Martin, and uncles: Minnis Davis, Dewey Davis, Rance Davis, Robert Grooms, and Charles Grooms.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday and 6-8 P.M. Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Pastor Jim Bunch and Pastor Dean Brewster officiating.

Interment will follow in River Hill Cemetery.

His pallbearers will be Bob Laney, Daniel Laney, Phil Hensley, Chris Wills, Randy Grooms, and Tim Trantham.
