He was a longtime employee of Walmart Distribution Center and a former employee of Pet Milk.
Survivors include a son: Billy Ayers and Lisa Forinash; granddaughter: Hope Marie Ayers; sisters and brothers-in-law: Joy and Steve Tarnowsky, Diana and Gary McCamey, Carrie King, Jean Davis, Ellen and Jerry Swatzell, Rosalie and Junior Shelton, Neoita and Ronald Gunter, Beverly and Jimmy Lamb; brother: Bobby Gene Gosnell; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friends: Tracy Williams and Ralph Ricker.
He was the son of the late Ray Ayers and Lois Marlene Weems.
Mr. Ayers’ request was to be cremated.
There will be a private memorial service Thursday at the home of Mr. Ayers.
