John Harold McMurray Sr.

John was born April 26, 1935 to the late Thattus Melvin McMurray and Nellie Lee Nabors McMurray of Hendersonville, NC.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Tessie B. McMurray; daughter, Gena Hood; and son, Benjamin S. McMurray.

He is survived by his brother: Ralph McMurray, and wife, Catherine, of Hendersonville, NC; sister, Brenda Tavel, also of Hendersonville; son: John H. McMurray Jr. and wife, Charlene, of Columbus, NC; daughter, Melissa McMurray of Greeneville; step daughters: Dee Dee Hagood, of Travelers Rest, SC; daughters: Louise Geren, Diane Sargent, and Darlene Osteen all of Hendersonville, and Denise Moffitt of Pensacola, FL; 7 beloved grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial services will be on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Grace Baptist Church, 390 Forest Rd., Mosheim, TN 37818.

There will be a receiving of friends and family 1-2 p.m.

The funeral service will follow with Rev. John Rickets presiding.

Refreshments and light meal will follow the service.
