

He was a truck driver.
Mr. Harris was a member of the Church of God and was a member of the Johnson City Senior Center.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years: Kate Harris; one daughter: Sandy Harris of Johnson City; two sons and a daughter-in-law: John “Tad” Harris, Jr. of Greeneville; Marvin and Christy Harris of Jonesborough; three grandchildren: Kathie Hager, Logan Jackson and Megan Jackson; a great grandson: Coltin Hatcher; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert “Cub” and Linda Harris of Raleigh, NC; Dan and Cathy Harris of Richlands, VA; four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Madeline and Robert Elswick of Richlands,VA; Janey and Harry Woods of Goodview, VA; Linda and Bennie McClanahan of Grundy, VA; Betsy Christian of Bandy, VA; special nephew: Chris Christian of Colonial Heights; numerous other nieces and nephews;
his special pet: Baby.
He was the son of the late James Marvin and Doskie Horton Harris and was preceded in death by
his stepmother, Louise Harris; a sister, Betty Flanner, and a stepbrother, Jim Cox.
The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Jerry Feathers officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, at Bradburn Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his family and friends.
The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Steven Prince and the staff of Laughlin Memorial
Hospital.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Family and friends are asked to meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home to go in procession to the committal service.
