Steve and Martha Ottinger

March 20, 2020

Martha and I were saddened to learn of Joy's passing. We often saw her leaving church and she was always smiling, friendly, and with compassion asking how we were doing. She was the type of person you wanted to be around. When I was a young boy she lived just above my mammaw and was sweet and kind to me in all instances, even when I did not deserve it. She never seemed to have a bad day. Our sincere condolences to daughter Debbie Sams, sister Mary Ricker, and the rest of the family. We hope you can extend your forgiveness and understanding as we are following the CDC's corona virus guidelines and staying at home but we certainly have had you in thought and in prayer as you go through this difficult time.

My Dad, Kenneth Britton Snith, was Brownie & Joy's very good friend before he passed in 1972. I was named after her in 1964. My full name is JOY PHYLLIS SMITH REDNOUR. I saw her a few years back at the beauty shop and we had a great conversation about years gone by.
