

She owned and operated Judy’s Beauty Shop for a number of years.
She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church. Her “church family” meant the world to her. They stood by her side and encouraged her during her illness.
She fought a very courageous battle with cancer and always relied upon the Lord for strength. She would often quote, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, and I have kept the faith.”
Survivors include her husband of 41 years: Jerry Lee Grooms; daughter and son-in-law: Pamela and David Bowers of Greeneville; very special grandchildren: Blake David Bowers and Jordan Brooke Bowers; sister: Wanda Wills of Greeneville; brothers and sisters-in-law: Truman and Doris Davis and James and Patricia Davis of Greeneville, and Doyle Davis and Elizabeth Jane Gosnell of Chuckey; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Wilbur Grooms of Greeneville, Bob and Lena Hawke of Grafton, Ohio, Richard Grooms of Tucson, Arizona, Irene Simms of Hickory, North Carolina, Bud and Susie Garner of Oxford, North Carolina, Martha Gillenwater of Johnson City, Grace Greenway of Lebanon, Tennessee, Phillip and Mary Beaver of Hildebran, North Carolina, Rick and Betty Strange of Newport, and Garvis “Junior” and Donna Grooms of Hickory, North Carolina; special aunt: Hazel Lyons of Kingsport; father-in-law: Roy Beryl Martin of Fall Branch; numerous special nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends: Shirley Roark, Sue Morelock, Margaret Rigsby, Nancy Susong, and Ken and Lee Becker.
She was the daughter of the late Hilierd and Martha Louise Davis and was preceded in death by her son: Jerry Wayne Grooms; brothers: Minnis Davis, Dewey “Sonny” Davis, and Rance Davis; father-in-law and mothers-in-law: Garvis Grooms, Myrtle Jenkins, and Emma Martin; and niece: Toushawa Davis.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Fellowship Church with Rev. Jim Bunch officiating.
Interment will follow in River Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chris Wills, Ronnie Williams, Gary Gregg, J.R. Grooms, Daniel Laney, and Timmie Trantham.
The body will remain at the funeral home until time for the funeral service.
