He was a carpenter and a member of Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
He is survived by his wife: Lois Collier; son and daughter-in-law: Anthony and Jodi Collier of Monroe, Michigan; stepsons: George Carter and spouse Tina of North Carolina, David Carter and spouse Kristy of South Carolina; four daughters and three sons-in-law: Kelli and Bill Valentine, Ronda and Sean Oellien of Knoxville, Cheryl and Marty Hixon of Brownstown, Michigan, Angel Ems of Monroe, Michigan; grandchildren: Matthew Collier, Dustin and Devin Ems, David and Christopher Mayville, Tyler and Kassidi Berry, Rico Carter, Arianna Carter, Tristen Carter, Kadence Carter, and Kylie Carter; brother and sister-in-law: Samuel and Cheryl Castello of Monroe, Michigan; two sisters: Glendy Sue Collier of Aptos, California and Patty Von Blon of Millersburg, Indiana; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Brenda and Don Bruce of Chuckey, Donna and Jim Ryburn of Knoxville, Larry and Vicky Penley of Chuckey, Allen and Wayne Penley of Greeneville; mother-in-law: Mary Etta Hicks of Greeneville; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins of Michigan and Tennessee; and special friends: Rebecca Sharp and Amber Malone.
He was the son of the late Anthony and Edith Robertson Castello and was preceded in death by a brother, Arville Collier.
The family will receive friends at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Friday preceding the service at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Billy Moore and Rev. Paul Ragon will officiate.
Interment will follow in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery.
His pallbearers are members of the Greene County Honor Guard.
His honorary pallbearers are Dr. Richard Aasheim, Phyllis Fox, and Rachel Davis.
