He had been in the grocery business since a very young age and continued until he retired from the Food City Store on Snapp Ferry Road.
Mr. Fry was a member of First Church of God, where he was the head usher for many years.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his brother: W.D. Fry of Greeneville; sister: Phyllis Fry Verran of Greeneville; sister-in-law: Edith Ransom and Irene Fillers, both of Greeneville; special nephew: Chris Wilson of Greeneville; special niece: Sherry Wilson Curl of Jefferson City; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Lawrence Fry Sr. and Pauline Luttrell Fry and was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years: Dorothy Wilhoit Fry; sister: Marie Fry Crumley; brother: Clifford Fry; nephews: Gary Crumley and Michael Barham; and niece: Debra Crumley.
The family will receive friends from 11am-1pm Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 1pm Tuesday, August 6, 2013, in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Steven Aiken officiating.
Interment will follow in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Fillers, Larry Crumley, Beaux Southern, Delmas Curl, Chris Wilson, Randy Fry, and Kenneth Wilhoit.
