

He graduated North Greene High School in 1984 and got his bachelors degree in 1989 at ETSU. He served in the National Guard and was a longtime employee of Summers and Taylor Construction.
Leroy was gifted an extra 30 years of life by the Lord and his heart donor Laura Pennisi. He was an organ donor, transplant supporter and Transplant Olympics participant himself.
He is survived by his daughter: Sarah; a son: Cameron; his children’s mother: Melissa; Leroy’s sister: Debbie Cogburn and her daughters: Jessica, Lillie and Lydia; his longtime girlfriend: Barbie and her children: Spencer and Kenley.
Leroy was loved by many other aunts, uncles, cousins and two special great nephews: Wesley and Louie.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Cleatus and Lucille Key; his grandparents and several other family members.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the service following at 7:00 pm in the chapel with Rev. Jim Carter officiating.
Interment will be held at 3:00 Sunday at New Bethel. Family and friends are asked to meet at 2:00 pm to go in procession to the cemetery.
Instead of flowers please donate to your local humane society and make sure you sign up to be an organ donor.
Pallbearers will be: Terry Helton, Jerry Lane, Mark Britton, Danny Hopson, Wesley Love, Willie Manis, Chris Cox, Scott Nichols and Spencer Burger.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends and family from the pool hall and bowling alley.
Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
