Linda Gurkins Allen

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John F. Allen and her parents, Lester and Lorraine Gurkins.

Linda is survived by her son, Douglas Allen (Candy); daughter, Laura Henry; granddaughter, Megan Haynes (Robert); grandsons: John, Matthew, Luke and Michael Allen and Jamie Henry; great grandsons: Christian, Elijah and Caleb Haynes; sister, Millie Handle (Chuck) and special friend: Elizabeth Martin.

Linda dedicated her life to helping others, working as a nurse and as an administrator for assisted living facilities before retiring to Tennessee.

The family will receive friends 10 – 11 am Monday at Asbury UMC in Greeneville followed by the funeral service 11 am.

The burial will be held in the Allen Cemetery in Sevier County at 2:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 292 Danny Thomas Lane Pl, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
