Linda Williams

She was a 35 year employee of Greene Valley Developmental Center and retired in 2008. She was one of three directors for Volunteer Productions Pageant Systems for over 40 years. Linda also put on the Greene County Fair Baby Show for years and until she turned it over to her daughters and assisted in overseeing. She loved her family more than anything.

She loved spending time with all her family and friends and going shopping!

Linda was of Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years: Clifford Wayne Williams; two daughters: Melinda Kaye Shipley of Chuckey and Tonya (Matt) Michelle Newton of Greeneville; grandchildren: Brooke (Jamie) LaShay Kilgore of Chuckey and Keylan Marshall Newton of Greeneville; two great-grandchildren: Jett Brooks Kilgore and Penn Wilder Kilgore. She is also survived by special friend, Shannon Blake.

She was the daughter of the late William Thomas Gibson (passed January 2017) and Frances Katherine Swinney Gibson (passed February 2008), and is preceded in death by her grandparents, Luke and Minnie Swinney of Chuckey and Grace Nichols of Greeneville. She also dearly missed her little dog, Gizmo, who passed away in 2022.

The family will receive friends from 12-2pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

A graveside service will follow at Chuckey Community Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Jeremiah Lewis.

Pallbearers will be Matt Newton, Keylan Newton, Shannon Blake, Jamie Kilgore, Jimmy Humbert, James Taylor, and Chad Carver.

In lieu of flowers, Linda requested that a donation be made to the Greene County Humane Society!

Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
