November 17, 2020

It was a hot sunny day in July when I traveled from my parents place in Tazewell Tennessee to look at a camper I found online.
On this day I first met Lyle and Patricia as they stood side-by-side in front of their pride and joy joy on the green grass behind the house.
The camper sat in all of its glory shining under the hot sun....sparkling clean.
That was a good day I had no idea of Lyle’s health concerns as I listened to him tell me about the camper.
He remembered that the tripod was “in the garage leaned against the wall”.

Finally a dream come true for me.
I have come along way since my 1970s Barbie camper as a kid.

His memory lives on as I enjoy the little things in the camper like the tinfoil inside the light over the bed that provides a soft shade instead of a blasting light.

I will always remember him standing next to his wife life partner of 60 years as we shook hands and the transaction was completed.

Now the camper sits at the overlook in Dandridge , looking over Douglas lake.
It now helps me move forward without my husband of 30 years as I build new memories.
I continue to work in East Tennessee and it serves as my home base during the week.
We are all just made up of moments and hopefully Patricia can find comfort in all of the happy times she shared with her partner of 60 years.
I learned from my loss to remember the good times and let the bad memories fade away.
I will share pictures to Kim’s Facebook as I build my new life in my brand new beautiful fifth wheel camper.
And I willremember Tricia and Lyle as I build my new memories.
Thank you
Denise
