Mabel Whitson

She retired from Magnavox after 40 years of service.

She attended Greystone Baptist Church as long as her health permitted

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Eric V. and Connie Whitson; grandson: Derick Whitson, whom she loved very much; sisters-in-law: Irene Blake, Tootie Blake, and Audrey Blake; several nieces and nephews; and an adopted sister: Mary Jo Wicker.

She was the daughter of the late John and Pearl Blake and was preceded in death by one grandson: Ben Whitson; step granddaughter: Brenda King; sister and brother-in-law: Charles and Ester Alexandra; three brothers: Johnny Blake, Hoover Blake, and Lester Blake.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Roger Stocton officiating.

Interment will follow in Greystone Cemetery.

Her pallbearers will be Harry Carrier, Shawn Blake, Shannon Blake, Jason Blake, Jimmy Willett, and Marcus Key.
