Marie Malone Lister

Marie Malone Lister, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on August 4th, in Johnson City, Tennessee after a prolonged illness. Marie was born on June 20, 1929, the daughter of Frank and Lola Malone. She is survived by one sister, Bonnie Irene Malone Campbell and one sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Malone. Marie was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen and Fred Malone.

Marie was married to Ralph Lister and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage together. They raised two daughters and she is survived by her daughters and their husbands; Brenda and John McKinnis, Johnson City, TN and Gracie and Don Jones, Knoxville, TN. Marie’s greatest joy in life was her family. Her grandchildren always brought joy to her heart - Katie and Tim Jenkins, Conor McKinnis, and Tyler Jones. She was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Ella and Ethan Jenkins. Marie also had a very special niece and her husband, Martha and James Reynolds, and their children Amy and Gabi.

She will be remembered for her generosity and compassion for her family and friends. Her home was always open as the gathering place for family and friends. Marie brought tremendous joy to all who knew her. She loved to have fun and taught those around her how to enjoy life.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Christian Care Center.

The family will receive friends 6-8pm Tuesday and 1-2pm Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2pm Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Jamie Lively and Tim Hall officiating.

Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Tim Jenkins, Conor McKinnis, Tyler Jones, Jimmy Lister, William Lister, and Joe Lister.
