Mary June Atherton

She was retired from GreeneValley and attended Bridges Chapel Church of God where she attended as long as her health permitted.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and daughter.

Survivors include her mother: Larue Warden; daughters and sons-in-law: Rebecca and Kevin Shelton, Angela and Leighton Byrd, and Hope Turner Davis; two step-daughters: Bobbie Jean Graham, Tonya Hankins; grandsons: Matthew Lane, Douglas Shelton, Garrett Byrd, Zachary Pike; step-grandsons: Jordan Gilbert, Caleb Gilbert; future great grandson: Oakley; one sister: Christie Dowdy; sister and brother-in-law: Jessie and Clay Barber; several nieces and nephews; special friends: Charles Turner, Hugh and Lyndall Seaver, Delores Foshie, Maria Bucklew, Savannah Shelton; and her special companion: Carmel, the dog.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Atherton, her father: David Louis Warden, and her sister: Yvonne Warden Williams.

Special thanks to doctors and nurses of Laughlin Hospital, Laughlin Health Care, Amedysis Hospice, Dr. Sonja Woods, and Dr. Phillip Thwing.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Lane, Garrett Byrd, Zachary Pike, Douglas Shelton, Clay Barber, and Adam Scott.

Honorary pallbearers are Trevor Hurst, Kevin Shelton, Charles Turner, Leighton Byrd, Hugh Seaver and Tyler Dowdy.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with the Rev. Clarence Gammill officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
