

Mary N. Witt Parton Cannon, who would have celebrated her 88th birthday on October 26, 2011, of Laughlin Health Care Center, Greeneville, passed away Tuesday morning, October 4, 2011, at Laughlin Health Care Center.
She was retired from the nursing profession and North American Philips after 31 years of service.
Mrs. Cannon was of the Free Will Baptist faith and attended Wayside FreeWill Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She was an active member of The Ladies Aid of the church and was involved in many church activities and always found time to visit and volunteer her time to help others.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Nick and Anita Cannon of Chuckey; daughter and son-in-law: Glenna and Arthur Walters of Greeneville; grandchildren: Steve and Ginger Walters, Donna and Keith Housewright, and Tyler Cannon; three great grandchildren: Jessica Larkin, Dustin Wilhoit, and Seth Wilhoit; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Geraldine Fillers, Sally Cannon, Jeanette GeFellers, Keith Chandler, and Bertha Parton; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was the daughter of the late Smith and Bessie Clowers Witt and was preceded in death by her first and second husbands: Everette Parton and Rev. Glenn Cannon; and a sister: Lula Mae Inscore.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Leonard Cutshaw and Nick Cannon will officiate. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Swatzell, Steve Walters, Keith Housewright, Dustin Wilhoit, Seth Wilhoit, Junior Ward, and Tyler Cannon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lanny Cannon, Teddy Lawing, special friends at Wayside FreeWill Baptist Church, staff and employees of Laughlin Health Care Center and Caris Health Care.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. It is requested that family and friends who would like to join the family for the committal service meet at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the committal service.
