

He was a firefighter and a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church.
Wife’s statement- “Matthew, thank you for the wonderful and sometimes crazy 24 years. You have given me the best part of you in our precious children. You are and will always be my best friend and soul mate. Thank you for always making my heart smile.”
Matt is surived by his wife of 10 years: Heather Stahlin; children: nine year old, Wyatt Stahlin and four year old, Piper Stahlin; parents: Ken and Linda Stahlin; sister and brother-in-law: Tracee and John Garbutt; niece and nephews: Taylor, Tanner and Johnny Garbutt; one great nephew: Jacob Garbutt; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Cathie and Ray Sobieski; sisters-in-law: Stacey and Angie Sobieski; niece: Nina Sobieski; grandparents: Meemaw Stahlin and Joan Jaber; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 25, at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Jim Harvey officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at 9:00 am Saturday at the funeral home to go in procession to the church. Full fire department honors will be conducted by the Greeneville Fire Department.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
His pallbearers are John McNamara, Kirk Kennedy, Capt. Steve Louderback, Larry Waddell, Jason Bowman, and Chris Bowers.
Members of Greeneville Fire Department will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Scholarship Fund for Matt and Heather’s Children at any Green Bank location.
