Matthew Earnest Shepherd

Matthew was a 10 year employee of Ingles Markets, Inc.

He was a graduate of Greeneville High School and was a member of the marching band. He was a senior at East Tennessee State University.

Matthew was a quiet, loving young man who was loved by his family and all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife: Cheree Whipp Shepherd; stepchildren: Jasmine and Wesley; mother: Anita Miller Bible; father: Gene Shepherd; stepfather: Ronnie Bible; maternal grandmother: Della Kate Miller; paternal grandmother: Doris Shepherd; two sisters: Kimberly Doane and Christina Morgan and their families; aunts, uncles, and families: Dean and Mary Miller, Rhonda and Larry Belt, Tommy and Katrena Broyles, and Kaylon and Deneise Shepherd ; special cousin: K.J. Shepherd; and his best friend: Wess Cooper. He was loved by a host of great aunts and great uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Eddie Miller and Freddie Shepherd.

The family will receive friends from 11a.m.-2p.m. Wednesday preceding the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Faye Lynn Ricker will officiate.

Interment will follow in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.

His pallbearers will be Wess Cooper, Kenny Ray, Kaylon Shepherd, K.J. Shepherd, Larry Bales, and Ronnie Bible.
