He retired from Altrista.
Mr. Belt was a member of Wayside Baptist Church.
He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years: Helen Belt; daughter: Carla Gosnell and special friend Doug Smith of Greeneville; son and daughter-in-law: Chris and Kristin Belt of Greeneville; grandchildren: Buddy Gosnell, Amber, C.J. and Shania Belt, Cullen Pierorazio, and Journey Wills, all of Greeneville; mother: Delphia Seaton of Greeneville; sister and brother-in-law: Jeraldean and Joe Shaw of Greeneville; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Don Belt and Allen and Barbara Belt of Greeneville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Maynard Belt Sr., and his brother, James Michael Belt.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the funeral service preceding the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Leonard Cutshaw and Rev. Gene Swatzell will officiate.
Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. It is requested that family and friends that would like to join the family for the committal service, meet at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
His pallbearers will be friends and family.
