

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and also attended River Hill United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Thompson retired as a bookkeeper for Hoyt Payne Company.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews, whom she thought of as her children, many great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.
She was the daughter of the late William and Kate Crum Knipp and was preceded in death by her husband: Billy Thompson; three sisters: Cleo Holt, McKindria Crum, and Lillian Southerland; two brothers: Virgil Knipp and Pierce Knipp; a half-sister: Eleanor Mysinger; and four half-brothers: Carl Knipp, Stephen Knipp, Guy Knipp, and Paul Crum.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Martha Beamer and Rev. Jason McCoy officiating.
Interment will be at 3:00 pm Saturday at Lynnhurst Cemetery in Knoxville.
Pallbearers will be Randall Knipp, Brandon Knipp, Steve Knipp, Ken Diehl, Elmer Tweed, Leslie Allen, Kenneth Southerland, and Melvin Renner.
