Nettie Wagers Hurd Foster

Nettie Wagers Hurd Foster is in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born in Clay County, Kentucky on February 13, 1935, the third child of ten children of Dutt and Dora (Murray) Wagers, she passed away June 6, 2024 at Life Care Center of Greeneville.

She was raised in Kingsport, TN and moved to Greene County in 1951 after her marriage to Charles Junior Hurd. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was retired from Laughlin Hospital. She loved working with her flowers and listening to all types of music.

Nettie is survived by her children: Shelby and Michael Ricker, J.C. and Imogene Hurd, Cathy and Billy F. Quillen, Elizabeth and Earl Tolley, Charles and Rebecca Hurd; grandchildren: Lorie Hurd, Jason Hurd, Bridget Quillen, Charlie Hurd, Josh and Samatha Hurd, Christopher Ricker, Brad Tolley, Brandi and Jamie Peltier; step grandchildren: Joey and Amanda Harmon, Jada and Terry Jones; thirteen great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren; six great, great grandsons; a sister, Bettie Wagers Agee of Kingsport, TN and two brothers: Roy Wagers of Graham, Oklahoma and James Wagers of Surgoinsville, TN; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Junior Hurd; six siblings; and a grandson, Billy Wayne Quillen.

The family will receive friends 12:30-2:30 pm Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will then be held at 2:30 pm in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Pastor Paul Garritt will officiate. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
