To Dr. Dowden's family I 'm so sorry for your loss. In1982 I graduated from utcvm and first practiced with him and could not have had a better person to work for. His wit, intelligence, faith, and true love for the profession are an everlasting inspiration for me as I practice.

Dear Family - I was a "pew buddy" of Dr. Dowden and wife for years at Trinity UMC. We had many conversations about my black lab dog and these were special times as we shared a common interest. He was a good and kind man and although I left Trinity to enter the ministry, I thought often of them. I miss them. My condolances to you.

I'm so sorry for your loss, he was such a good man. We moved in next door to Doc on Redbud Drive when I was around 4 years old. He was our vet and such a good friend. I will always remember him and will see him again some day in Heaven.

Although we only saw Uncle Nealy occasionaly after he moved to Tennessee, he will be missed by his relatives and friends in Louisiana who were proud of his accomplishments. I always enjoyed my visits with him especially the on-call trips to the local farms.

Dear Family: I am so sorry for your loss. What a special man Doc Dowden was. As a small child he was like a celebrity to me. I would watch for him to come down the dirt road with a cloud of dust following. He would stop in front of the barn, that cloud of dust catching up to him and that long CB antenna swinging back and forth. It was just so exciting. He was one of those special people that will never be forgotten.
