

He was both a farmer and worked in construction.
Mr. Shelton was a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years: Ruth Shelton; beloved daughter: Helen Ricker; beloved granddaughter: Tammy Ricker; sister: Wilda Chandler; sisters-in-law: Lena Cobb and Lula Belle Shipley; brother-in-law: Paul Cobb; several nieces and nephews; and his special friends: Randall Tipton, Joe Hardin, and David Cutshaw.
He was preceded in death by his father, Major M. Shelton; mother, Zella Mae Neas Shelton; sister, Berla Lamb; and brother: Carroll Shelton.
The family extends a special thanks to the wonderful 3rd floor nursing staff at Takoma Hospital and Dr. McKinney.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. J. R. McKinney and Randall Tipton officiating.
Interment will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 am Wednesday for the graveside service. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Joe Hardin, Randall Tipton, Garry Lamb, David Idell, Barry Carter, and Michael Shelton.
Honorary pallbearers are all of his friends and neighbors in Houston Valley and at Creekside Market.
