Opal Brown

Opal was born on December 12, 1930. She was married to her beloved John D Brown on December 30,1947.

She warmly welcomed all, enjoyed telling stories from her childhood, going on scenic drives through the mountains, and relishing moments on her porch with her loved ones.

Opal is reunited in Glory with her husband John D Brown, and all those who preceded her in death, while she leaves behind cherished memories with her surviving loved ones which include: two daughters, Cathy (John) King and Wanda Brumett; a son, Lester (Lori) Brown, and many grandchildren, including Caitlyn (Avery) Miller and Carley (Bailey) Hodge; and great grandchildren, Opal Hodge and Griffin Miller, each carrying a piece of her gentle spirit forward.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 2nd at 3pm at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church on the Horton Highway. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 2:45 pm. The Reverend Ronnie Baxter will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Grove F.W.B. Church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Avery Miller, Bailey Hodge, Tony Bailey, Jason Crawford, Ricky Russell, and Marty Jackson.

Memorials may be made to Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Cemetery fund.

The family of Opal Brown extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Daniel Carroll, her primary care doctor, for his dedicated support and compassionate care throughout her entire journey as well as the entire staff at NHC.
